EuroFM is the European Facilities Management (FM) network that brings educators, researchers and practitioners in the field of Facility Management together. The network has members situated in 29 different countries across Europe from research institutes to universities, service providers and national FM related organisations with the aim to bring forward the FM profession to reach a mutual understanding by learning and sharing FM knowledge.

Inaugural winners – the Ministry of Justice & Matrix Booking
The EuroFM awards have been taking place since 2007, and for the first time the ‘Partners for FM Innovation’ competition was launched with an award ceremony to announce the winner at EFMC 2017 in Madrid. Matrix Booking and the Ministry of Justice where presented with this joint award in recognition of the co-innovation work on the highly successful commuter hubs project.
The UK government wanted to offer support to staff who faced lengthy journeys to offices based in London by developing technology to help employees work more flexibly and transform the workplace accordingly.
To make the programme a reality an adaptable system was required to meet the needs of a significant mobile workforce but the solution would also need to be easy to use with minimal training requirements – giving staff full control of their bookings.
The MoJ solution was to create a series of Commuter Hubs providing staff with access to bookable desks and meeting rooms in a location nearer to where they live. Located principally outside London or in the South East of England, Matrix Booking and Matrix Welcome were introduced to manage the rapidly growing corporate estate providing a fully self-servicing system that included mobile access as standard, interactive digital room signage and low training and support costs.
